Ir. J. Klerk has a background in chemical engineering and technical physics from the Eindhoven University of Technology.
After working on electro ceramics he joined the Semiconductor division 1985 and had several positions in development of sensors, IC packages and Discrete packages. Since 1992 he was in charge of the packaging strategy for Philips Semiconductors.
He joined Philips CFT (now Philips Applied Technologies) in 2000 as a senior consultant on packaging technology.
He participated in European projects as participant, reviewer and evaluator. Currently he is in charge of coordinating the technical activities on lead-free products and soldering in Philips Electronics.
He represents Philips as a key partner in the PROTIN project on tin whiskers and has expertise in whisker knowhow at world highest level.
Philips are also a partner in the EFSOT project(lead-free assembly experience).
Jacob Klerk has also been intimately involved in Philips activities in lead-free electronics including organisation and implementation of transition. |
