Dr. Paul Michelis (Ph.D 1979, Imperial College, Univ. of London), civil engineer, has specialized in material mechanical testing and in the design of testing machines for the last twenty five years.
He is the author of 36 scientific papers in international journals and conferences and designer of three, new concept, patented material testing machines.
He is the founder and director of IMMG S.A., with one of the most advanced European laboratories in material testing and part of the EU Programme Important Research Infrastructures.
He has initiated and coordinated six large European, four year projects, including Brite-EuRam projects. He is a technical evaluator of Brite-Euram research proposals and also contributes to European Commission Committees evaluating industrial priorities in the field of materials. He has also directed large construction projects for CERN, Geneva and produced the Pole Measuring Machine - one of the most advanced and complicated, robotic testing machines in Europe. In the field of aeronautics he is representing the Hellenic SMEs in the European Association of Aerospace Industries (AECMA) |
