Professor Jorma Kivilahti received his M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology (1969 and 1976, resp.).
After working in industry he returned to the university, heading the laboratory of Electronics Production Technology and the Graduate School of Electronics Manufacturing, both in Electrical and Communications Engineering Dept. at HUT.
His expertise is in design, manufacturing and reliability of lead-free electronics as well as active and passive component integration with advanced printed circuit board fabrication.
He has published over 200 papers, several patents and numerous invited papers, receiving several best paper awards. He is an Advanced Research Fellow at the Academy of Finland and has been a Tutoring Professor in Nokia´s Leading Science Program. He is member of advisory committees and reviews international journals. He is a member of the National Research Centre of Excellence in Tissue Engineering and Biomaterials. He has received the Order of the White Rose of Finland (Knight) for his contributions to Finnish electronics industry. |
